BACKGROUND:
The Department of Public Utilities performs sewer pipe inspections utilizing a crawler camera system with a lateral launch. This equipment requires proper care and maintenance to ensure functionality and prolonged use. Therefore, the purchase and custom build out of a fully functioning vehicle to house and operate the sewer pipe television equipment allows for a safe and efficient work environment for sewer line inspections.
Advertisement for bids for the Sewer Pipe Television Truck Purchase and Modification - Utilities Department was published in the Labor Record on Thursday, August 22, 2024. The Public Service Committee will review this matter.
CONCLUSION:
On Thursday, September 5, 2024, at 10:45 a.m., one (1) sealed bid was opened for the Sewer Pipe Television Truck Purchase and Modification - Utilities Department. The bid summary is as follows:

The bid from EJ Equipment Inc., in the amount of $239,922.00, is 4.03% below the engineer’s estimate and includes proper completion of all bid documents. EJ Equipment Inc. has provided sewer televising equipment and worked with the City on sewer equipment in the past and we are confident they will provide the equipment specified in the contract documents. Sufficient funds exist utilizing the Water & Sewer Improvement Fund / Sanitary Sewer (Org 50180020, Object 557500, $239,922.00).
