BACKGROUND:

On January 17, 2023, the Mayor and City Council awarded a Contract for the Joliet Ottawa Water Main Improvements Project, in the amount of $6,095,346.00, on behalf of Trine Construction Corp., based on the Unit Prices provided in their bid.  Subsequently, Change Orders Nos. 1-3 were approved for a net increase of $309,055.32.  The Public Service Committee will review this matter.

 

CONCLUSION:

Change Order No. 4, a net addition in the amount of $229,372.25 is for the following work:

 

                     Additional trench backfill (special)

                     Additional rock excavation

                     Additional water main (open) cut, 6-inch

                     Additional sanitary sewer removal and replacement, 8-inch

                     Additional storm sewer removal and replacement, 8-inch

 

Sufficient funds are available for this project in the Water Main Replacement Fund (Org 53880000, Object 557200, $229,372.25).

Based on the above, it is recommended that the Mayor and City Council approve Change Order No. 4 to the contract for the Joliet Ottawa Water Main Improvements Project, in the amount of $229,372.25, on behalf of Trine Construction Corp.
