BACKGROUND:
On Tuesday, June 20, 2023, the Mayor and City Council awarded a contract to Water Well Solutions Illinois LLC, in the amount of $322,825.00, for the rehabilitation of Well 10D. Water Well Solutions Illinois LLC successfully completed the removal of the pumping equipment and sent it to the manufacturer, Centrilift, for evaluation. Centrilift evaluated the pump, seal and motor. Based upon the evaluation it is recommended that a new pump and seal be purchased, and the motor refurbished. Also, during the inspection of the well it was determined that a chemical treatment would be needed to maintain water production. The Public Service Committee will review this matter.
CONCLUSION:
Water Well Solutions Illinois LLC submitted a price in the amount of $102,050.00 to provide the following items: new seal, new pump, refurbish the motor, new motor lead, and complete a chemical treatment of the well. The pump will be further evaluated for rebuild after it is received back from the manufacturer. Once completed, the City will have a spare set of pumping equipment available for future use.
Funds will be charged to the Water and Sewer Improvement Fund / Projects / Construction (Org 50180011, Object 557200, $102,050.00, Project 23024).

Based on the above, it is recommended that the Mayor and City Council approve Change Order No. 1, a net increase in the amount of $102,050.00, for the Well 10D Rehabilitation Project to Water Well Solutions Illinois LLC.
