end
BACKGROUND:
On September 3, 2019, the City Council approved Intergovernmental Agreements with Lockport Township and Will County to acquire the Fairmont Water and Sewer System in unincorporated Lockport Township. The area of the Fairmont Sanitary Sewer System that is tributary to the Canal Street Lift Station is constructed of vitrified clay pipe and has been prioritized for rehabilitation due to the excessive inflow and infiltration that is received at the Canal Street Lift Station. The proposed rehabilitation includes mainline cured-in-place pipelining and manhole rehabilitation. Will County has provided Land Use Funds for the design of the 2025 Fairmont Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Program and will provide CBDG and Federal Grant funds for the construction.
In 2021, the City prepared a request for qualifications for the sewer rehabilitation program. Three qualifications were received, and three firms were interviewed. Upon review of the qualifications, RJN Group Inc. was selected as the most qualified firm to manage the City's sanitary sewer investigations and rehabilitation program. Accordingly, Staff requested RJN Group Inc. to provide a proposal for the 2025 Fairmont Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Program. The Public Service Committee will review this matter.
CONCLUSION:
RJN Group Inc. has provided a proposal to complete the design for the 2025 Fairmont Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Program in an amount of not-to-exceed $49,400.00. The design scope of work includes engineering design, preparation of bid documents, and bidding assistance.
