Award of Contract for the Well Rock 1 Reinstallation to Water Well Solutions Illinois LLC in the amount of $124,190.00

BACKGROUND:
Well Rock 1 is located just east of Gougar Road, north of Route 6. Well Rock 1 was recently converted from a line shaft pump to a submersible motor well. Shortly after the conversion the motor failed and was removed under warranty. The motor was sent in for inspection and the motor manufacturer provided a replacement at no cost. However, during the installation it was discovered the cable had a fault in it which prevented the motor from starting. A set of specifications was prepared by City staff for the purchase of the cable and reinstallation of the well.
The Well Rock 1 Reinstallation Project was advertised in the Labor Record on Thursday, June 13, 2024. The Public Service Committee will review this matter.
CONCLUSION:
On Thursday, June 20, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., three (3) sealed bids were opened and read in the City Hall Conference Room 1 for the Well Rock 1 Installation Project. The bid summary is as follows:

Funds will be charged to the Water and Sewer Improvement Fund / Projects / Construction (Org 50180011, Object 557200, $124,190.00).

Based on the above, it is recommended that the Mayor and City Council Award the Contract for the Well Rock 1 Reinstallation Project, in the amount of $124,190.00, to Water Well Solutions Illinois LLC.
