BACKGROUND:
Well 27D was originally drilled in 2006 by Layne Western Company and was last serviced in 2015. Due to the age of the equipment and the reduced pumping capacity, the well equipment needs to be removed for routine maintenance. A set of specifications was prepared by City staff for the rehabilitation of the well, and the Well 27D Rehabilitation Project was advertised in the Labor Record on Thursday, July 18, 2024. The Public Service Committee will review this matter.
CONCLUSION:
On Thursday, August 8, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., three (3) sealed bids were opened and read in the City Hall Conference Room 2 for the Well 27D Rehabilitation Project. The bid summary is as follows:

The low bid by Great Lakes Water Resource Group is 2% above the engineer’s estimate.
Funds will be charged to the Water and Sewer Improvement Fund / Projects / Construction (Org 50180011, Object 557200, $189,700.00).

Based on the above, it is recommended that the Mayor and City Council Award the Contract for the Well 27D Rehabilitation, in the amount of $189,700.00, to Great Lakes Water Resources Group.
