BACKGROUND:
The Committee on Citizens with Disabilities was established by Resolution No. 3656 on April 8, 1991. The committee was created to review and make recommendations on issues pertaining to persons with disabilities, including transportation, education, vocational, public service, housing, and construction issues. The original resolution stipulated that the committee would be composed of nine members.
On June 18, 1991, Resolution No. 3698 was passed, which amended the original resolution by increasing the number of committee members to thirteen. This change was made to ensure a broader representation and to accommodate the growing needs of the community. The current proposed resolution seeks to amend the number of members on the Committee on Citizens with Disabilities to no less than nine and with a maximum of thirteen (13).
