Resolution Authorizing the Acquisition of Right-of-Way for the Olympic Boulevard Improvement Project - Parcel 0017

BACKGROUND:
As part of the Rock Run Collection Development located at the northeast corner of the I-80 and I-55 interchange, the City agreed to complete various infrastructure improvement projects in support of the project. One such project is the improvements to Olympic Boulevard from Crossroads Drive to Houbolt Road. A construction contract was awarded for the project at the September 5, 2023 City Council meeting. In order to complete the improvements, a total of sixteen (16) parcels were identified for property acquisition. One (1) of the properties has since been identified as not being necessary. Agreements for property acquisition have previously been reached with all property owners with one exception, Parcel No. 0017. Condemnation proceedings were initiated regarding the aforementioned property but a settlement for the purchase of right-of-way and easements has since been reached. Information on this parcel is as follows:

OWNER: Irv Estates BK LLC & Bldg Oceanside BK, LLC
PURCHASE PRICE: $115,000.00
Parcel Number 0017 includes the acquisition of right-of-way and temporary easements.
The Public Service Committee will review this matter.
CONCLUSION:
The Administration recommends the Mayor and City Council adopt the attached Resolution authorizing the acquisition of right-of-way and easements for the indicated purchase price.
Sufficient funds exist utilizing the TIF #7 Rock Run Fund / Infrastructure (Org 25520240, Object 557200, $115,000.00).
