BACKGROUND:
The Joliet Police Department and The City of Aurora Police Department wish to renew a formal interagency agreement for the use of National Integrated Ballistic Information Network (NIBIN). The agreement outlines procedures that have been in place for several years to combat, link, and solve violent crimes involving firearms. This item was reviewed at the Public Safety Committee Meeting held on January 2, 2024 and recommended to the full Council for approval.

The Administration recommends that the City Council approve the agreement and authorizes the Chief of Police to sign the agreement.
