Amendment No. 2 to the Construction Testing / Soil Boring Services for the 2024 Water Main Rehabilitation Program to Seeco Consultants, Inc. in the amount of $7,620.00

BACKGROUND:
On June 6, 2023, the Mayor and City Council approved a professional services agreement with Seeco Consultants, Inc. in the amount of $65,902.00 to perform preliminary soil boring and soil sampling work for the 2024 Water Main Replacement Program. The scope of this work included preliminary soil borings and preliminary soil sampling to identify where testing would be required to determine the proper method for soil disposal. Subsequently, Amendment No. 1 was approved in the amount of $51,688.00 for additional soil boring work and for soil testing and reporting. Amendment No. 3 is recommended to complete additional soil sampling for two of the water main projects to determine the exact limits of the soil that will require special disposal. Identifying the exact limits will save the City money by limiting the quantity of soil requiring disposal as special waste. The Public Service Committee reviewed this memo at the January 2, 2024 meeting and recommended for approval by full Council.
CONCLUSION:
Seeco Consultants, Inc. provided a proposal in the amount of $7,620.00 for the additional soil testing.
Funds will be charged to the Water Main Replacement Fund (Org 53880000, Object 557200, $7,620.00).

Based on the above, it is recommended that the Mayor and City Council approve Amendment No. 2 in the amount of $7,620.00 for Construction Testing/Soil Boring Services for the 2024 Water Main Rehabilitation Program on behalf of Seeco Consultants, Inc.
