BACKGROUND:
The Mayor and City Council previously approved the 2024 City of Joliet Budget. The 2024 - 2025 Tree Trimming and Removal is a part of this budget. The project was advertised on Thursday, December 21, 2023. The Public Service Committee reviewed this memo at the January 16, 2024 meeting and recommended for approval by full Council.
CONCLUSION:
On January 5, 2024 at 10:00 A.M., two (2) sealed bids were received for the 2024 - 2025 Tree Trimming and Removal Contract. The bid summary is as follows:

Engineer’s Estimate $197,485.00
The low bid from Arbor Tek Landscape Services Inc., in the amount of $154,433.48, is 21.80% below the engineer’s estimate.
Sufficient funds exist utilizing the Public Works Roadways General Fund / Contractual Services (Org 09029000, Object 524200, $154,433.48).

Based on the above, it is recommended that the Mayor and City Council award the 2024 - 2025 Tree Trimming and Removal Contract, in the amount of $154,433.48, on behalf of Arbor Tek Landscape Services Inc.
