BACKGROUND:
On June 6, 2023, the Mayor and City Council awarded a contract for the 2023 Sidewalk / Curb Replacement Project - Contract C, in the amount of $250,000.00, to J & J Newell Concrete Contractors. Subsequently, Change Order No. 1 was approved by the Mayor and City Council. The Public Service Committee reviewed this memo at the January 16, 2024 meeting and recommended for approval by full Council.
CONCLUSION:
Change Order No. 1, a net decrease in the amount of ($4,053.50), is the result of the following:
1) Balancing of quantities.
2) Additional landscape restoration required due to regrading of parkway for ADA ramps.
Sufficient funds exist using the General Fund Public Works / Repair & Maintenance (Org 10090000, Object 524300, $3,315.00). Change Order No. 1 reflects a reduction in contribution from the Capital Improvement Fund/ Sidewalk Replacement (Org 30090270, Object 557200, ($7,368.50)).
Also included is Payout Estimate No. 4 and Final, in the amount of $5,729.25, on behalf of J & J Newell Concrete Contractors.

Based on the above, it is recommended that the Mayor and City Council take the following actions:
1) Approve Change Order No. 2 for the 2023 Sidewalk / Curb Replacement Project - Contract C, net reduction in the amount ($4,053.50), on behalf of J & J Newell Concrete Contractors.
2) Approve Payment Estimate No. 4 and Final, in the amount of $5,729.25, for the 2023 Sidewalk / Curb Replacement Project - Contract C.
