Purchase of one (1) New Caterpillar Skid Steer and Attachment from Altorfer Industries Inc. in the amount of $90,000.00

BACKGROUND:
The approved 2024 budget includes the purchase of a replacement skid steer for the Roadways Division. The City utilizes smaller size skid steers for daily maintenance projects including patching streets, collecting tree debris, and misc. garbage pick-up. Fleet Services has a desire to continue with the standardization of equipment in order to recognize cost saving on replacement parts, spare tires, maintenance, etc. There are currently four (4) of the proposed units to be purchased in operation within the Roadways Division. The purchase of this unit will allow Fleet Services to effectively continue maintenance synergies. The proposed unit is expected to arrive at the dealer in late February and can be held for the City of Joliet based upon our long-standing relationship with them. The Public Service Committee will review this matter.
CONCLUSION:
Altorfer Industries Inc. is a long-term vendor to the City of Joliet and is the territory supplier for the respective products proposed for purchase (272D3 XPS Skid Steer Loader with standard and Stump Grinder SG36 attachments). Sourcewell pricing will be utilized to secure pricing as shown below:

* $ 98,233.00 - Standard Governmental (USA) Pricing
* $ 117,831.00 - Sale (List) Pricing
Section 2-438 of the City of Joliet Code of Ordinances states that purchases over $25,000.00 may be awarded without written specifications or bidding under certain circumstances. One (1) of these circumstances applies:
(f) Purchases when authorized by a concurring vote of two-thirds (2/3) of the Mayor and City Council.
