Professional Services Agreement for the Force Main Assessment Program, to RJN Group Inc., in the amount of $140,700.00
end
BACKGROUND:
In 2022 hydraulic modeling and master planning for the sanitary sewer system servicing the southeastern portion of the City was completed. The study concluded that both the Millsdale Lift Station and Route 66 Lift Station require upgrades to pump anticipated flows from this service area. The pumps at the Millsdale Lift Station were upgraded to increase station capacity, however, the new pumps are not running at their full capacity. The Route 66 Lift Station still requires pump upgrades to increase station capacity, however, increasing the pump size will significantly increase the operating pressures in the existing force main. Accordingly, it is recommended that both the Millsdale force main and the Route 66 force main be inspected to determine if the force main is reducing the capacity at Millsdale Lift Station and if there is a concern for increasing the operating pressure on the Route 66 force main.
Additionally, in 2021, a lift station assessment program for the City's 50 lift stations was completed. The assessment of the Cherry Hill Lift Station indicated that the station is not operating at its full design capacity. It is recommended that the force main for this lift station be inspected to determine its condition and what improvements are required to operate the station at its full design capacity. The Public Service Committee will review this matter.
CONCLUSION:
RJN Group Inc. has provided a proposal to complete an internal inspection of the Millsdale Lift Station force main, Route 66 Lift Station force main, and Cherry Hill Lift Station force main for the not-to-exceed amount of $140,700.00. The scope of work includes the inspection of the force mains using Pipers technology allowing for a complete assessment of the pipeline includi...
