Award of Contract to CDWG for the Annual Renewal of Barracuda Cloud Backup Services in the Amount of $56,280.00
end
BACKGROUND:
In 2014 the City selected Barracuda e-mail protection to provide the City with e-mail archiving capabilities. The need for e-mail archiving continues to grow each year as the number of FOIA requests, litigation hold and legal electronic discovery requests increases. Barracuda allows staff to efficiently respond to these many requests. In addition to its role as an e-mail archive Barracuda will also provide backup services for the City's Microsoft 365 environment.
CONCLUSION:
The City currently archives its e-mail in the Barracuda e-mail protection solution and staff has been trained to access this information without the assistance of the Information Technology department. Barracuda is used daily to respond to the City's many e-mail requests in a timely and efficient manner. This solution also provides a cloud-based backup of our Microsoft 365 environment that protects the City against data loss.
To ensure competitive pricing, the Barracuda solution will be purchased using the Sourcewell 081419 Software for SPC Members contract.
