BACKGROUND:
The Mayor and City Council previously approved the 2024 City of Joliet Budget. The Theodore Street (FAU 400) Widen and Resurface project is a part of this budget. The project was advertised on Thursday, January 25, 2024. The Public Service Committee will review this matter.
CONCLUSION:
On February 9, 2024, at 10:00 A.M., four (4) sealed bids were received for the Theodore Street (FAU 400) Widen and Resurface Contract. The bid summary is as follows:

The low bid by Austin Tyler Construction Inc., in the amount of $3,592,706.33, is 1.05% over the engineer’s estimate. Sufficient funds exist utilizing the Motor Fuel Tax Funds / Infrastructure (Org 30090270, Object 557200, $3,592,706.33).

Based on the above, it is recommended that the Mayor and City Council award the Theodore Street (FAU 400) Widen and Resurface Contract, in the amount of $3,592,706.33, on behalf of Austin Tyler Construction Inc.
