Resolution Approving an Emergency Management Mutual Aid Agreement

BACKGROUND:
The City of Joliet Emergency Management Agency has been a partner member of the Illinois Emergency Services Management Association (IESMA), a mutual aid organization that allows for the sharing of resources and information throughout the state to assure communities can respond to and recover from large scale disasters. This updated agreement reflects the current best practices and concepts in emergency management as well as modernizing language on insurance, indemnification, and reimbursement. This item was reviewed at the Public Safety Committee Meeting held on May 7, 2024, and recommended to the full Council for approval.
CONCLUSION:
The City of Joliet Emergency Management Agency along with Interim Corporation Counsel is bringing forth a resolution adopting the updated current Illinois Emergency Management Mutual Aid System Agreement.
