BACKGROUND:
For your consideration are the following positions and any resulting subsequent vacancies:
Police Department - Deputy Communications Director (1 position): This position assists with the management of the communications (911) center and is needed to provide relief and succession to the current department structure. Since this is a new position, a job description is attached. This position will also be reviewed at the Finance Committee for recommendation on May 21, 2024.
Summer Interns - Various - (up to 4 positions): These will be part-time roles (May or June through August) that will assist with various administrative projects and day-to-day tasks as requested.
These positions will also be reviewed at the Finance Committee for recommendation on May 21, 2024.

It is recommended the Mayor and City Council authorize the City Manager to fill this position as well as any subsequent vacancies that may occur.
