Resolution Approving the Dedication of a 33’ x 240’ Portion and a 33’ x 396’ Portion of Zurich Road as Public Right-of-Way

BACKGROUND:
In 2018, Vulcan Lands Inc., owner of the existing Vulcan quarry at 595 W. Laraway Road, annexed additional property at the southeast corner of Zurich Road and Brandon Road to include as part of the quarry operations. The annexation agreement, originally approved in 1994 and renewed in 2010, was amended to include the additional property and to establish public improvement requirements as part of the expansion. These improvements included reconstructing and dedicating the south half of Zurich Road from Brandon Road east to the existing Vulcan property.
The road has since been reconstructed but the right-of-way portions were never dedicated. The dedication has now been submitted to fulfill the requirements established in the 2018 annexation agreement amendment. The City of Joliet Public Works Department has reviewed and supports this dedication.
