Purchase of one (1) Ford Transit and one (1) Ford F550 KUV for Public Utilities

BACKGROUND:
As part of the ongoing Citywide vehicle replacement plan, the Department of Public Utilities budgeted to obtain one (1) Meter Repair Vehicle in 2024. The 2023 budget included funding for two (2) Water Foreman trucks, of which the City was only able to obtain one (1) in 2023. Funding for the purchase of the second foreman truck was carried forward to 2024 and will be completed at this time. A Ford transit van was selected for the meter repair vehicle for safety and cargo reasons. The water foreman unit will mirror an existing purchased unit with a F550 chassis and a closed KUV body.
The Public Service Committee will review this matter.
CONCLUSION:
Local dealers that the City has on-going relationships with were contacted and polled for their availability and ability to order the requested units. Rod Baker Ford, D'Orazio Ford, Ron Tirapelli Ford Inc., Sutton Ford, Castle Ford, Zeigler Auto Group, and Willowbrook Ford were contacted for the availability of the above vehicles. The results are listed below:
2024 Transit Van:
* $50,667.00 - Ron Tirapelli Ford, Inc. (vehicle is currently on lot)
* $53,942.00 - D'Orazio Ford (vehicle would need to be ordered)
* Rod Baker Ford responded that they would provide a quote if we chose to order versus purchase off the lot.
* No response from other dealerships.
2024 F550 Chassis (all will need to be ordered):
* $68,671.00 - Ron Tirapelli Ford, Inc.
* $73,882.03 - Rod Baker Ford
* $75,141.00 - D'Orazio Ford
* No response from other dealerships
2024 KUV Body:
* $87,800.00 - Knapheide (Purchase via Sourcewell Contract) directly from the manufacturer
