BACKGROUND:
In the spring of 2021 the City prepared a request for qualifications (RFQ) for a multi-phased lift station assessment, evaluation, and design engineering program. Fifteen proposals were received, and staff selected seven engineering firms to interview. Staff ranked Trotter and Associates Inc. as the most qualified engineering firm. On June 16, 2021, the City Council approved a contract with Trotter and Associates Inc. for the Phase I Lift Station assessment portion of the program. The scope of the Phase I project included completing a detailed inventory and condition assessment of the City's 50 lift stations. Trotter and Associates Inc. ranked 10 lift stations for priority rehabilitation or replacement. The first of the ten priority lift stations, Lawrence Avenue Lift Station, is currently in operation. The next two priority lift stations, Greenfield Lift Station, and Benton Lift Station are currently in construction phase. The fourth priority lift station for rehabilitation is the Lois Place Lift Station.

Trotter and Associates Inc. provided a proposal for detailed design engineering for the Lois Place Lift Station. The Public Service Committee will review this matter.

CONCLUSION:
The proposal from Trotter and Associates Inc., dated May 20, 2024, is for the site survey, design engineering, and bidding services for the Lois Place Lift Station Rehabilitation. The proposal is for a not to exceed amount of $96,600.00. Trotter and Associates Inc. has completed similar projects for the City in the past and can satisfactorily complete the work.
