Award of Contract for the 2024 Sidewalk / Curb Replacement Project - Far West Joliet to D Construction Inc. in the amount of $377,374.77

BACKGROUND:
The 2024 budget allocates funds for Sidewalk / Curb Replacement Program. The limits of Far West Joliet sidewalk and curb replacement project are between the western City limits and Interstate 55. This contract will replace public sidewalk, curb and gutter, and driveway aprons per the City’s 50/50 property owner participation policy. The project will also replace public sidewalk damaged by parkway trees and ADA ramps at pedestrian corner crosswalks at 100% City cost. The project also includes expansions of the asphalt parking lots at Fire Stations 5 (Mason Avenue) and 8 (Essington Road).
The Public Service Committee will review this matter.
CONCLUSION:
On Monday, July 22, 2024, at 10:00 A.M., four (4) sealed bids were received for the 2024 Sidewalk / Curb Replacement Project - Far West Joliet. The bid summary is as follows:
The low bid from D Construction, Inc. in the amount of $377,374.77 is 0.26% above the Engineer’s Estimate.
Sufficient funds exist utilizing the PW Engineering & Construction / Contractual Services (Org 30090270, Object 557200, $250,000.00), General Fund PW / Repairs & Maintenance Fund (Org 10090000, Object 524300, $72,056.49); and Fire Administration General Fund / Repair and Maintenance (Org 07001000, Object 524300, $55,318.28).

Based on the above, it is recommended that the Mayor and City Council Award the Contract for the 2024 Sidewalk / Curb Replacement Project - Far West Joliet, in the amount of $377,374.77, on behalf of D Construction, Inc.
