SUBJECT:

title

Resolution Authorizing the Execution of an Intergovernmental Agreement with Pace Regarding Transit Shelters

end

BACKGROUND:

In 2011, the City of Joliet entered into an Agreement with Pace regarding the location, maintenance, and use of transit shelters in public rights of way.  That Agreement has expired, and a new Agreement is proposed.  The Public Service Committee will review this matter.

CONCLUSION:

The new Agreement is largely unchanged; Pace may maintain existing shelters in public rights of way at their sole expense.  Maintenance shall include the structure, as well as electric fixtures and advertising.  New shelters may be constructed with the approval of the City.  Pace may contract for advertising within the shelter with the City being entitled to 50% of the revenue.  If there is no advertising in a given shelter, the City may use the space to promote City events or issue public service announcements.

RECOMMENDATION:

recommendation
