end

BACKGROUND:
Slammers Stadium is owned by the City of Joliet and is leased to the Joliet Slammers. One obligation of the City of Joliet (per lease) is to provide an adequate fire and life safety system that meets code throughout the stadium. Currently, the system is out of date and not up to proper working condition.

CONCLUSION:
The City of Joliet is seeking approval of purchase for a fire and life safety system upgrade for Slammers Stadium to fulfill the obligation of the lease. Staff contacted three vendors to obtain quotes for the scope of work. Two returned proposals. Updates include new panel equipment, pull stations, strobes, smoke and heat detectors. Staff is recommending the purchase be approved and awarded to AMS Industries Inc. in the amount of $100,868.13. Original projected estimates were $100,000.00. The 2024 Capital Budget provides funding specifically designated for this project (Org 30020010, Obj 557300, $100,868.13).

Company Proposal Amount
AMS Industries Inc. $100,868.13
