Authorization to Approve the Proposed Renewal of Claims Administrator

BACKGROUND:
The City utilizes the services of Gallagher Bassett to provide various services within the City’s Workers’ Compensation agreement. Some of these services include loss control, investigative assistance, litigation management, and compliance. Gallagher Bassett has provided services to the city for approximately 20 years. Currently, the City works primarily with Tina Guimon, Senior Account Manager and Janice Mosblech, Claims Consultant.
CONCLUSION:
This year’s quote, $234,441 (based on estimated claim frequency), shows an increase of $39,393 over last year, a rather competitive proposal in the current market.

Based on the Administration’s evaluation of the proposal, it is recommended that the City Council authorize executing a contract with Gallagher Bassett for the renewal of claims administrator services for the City’s Workers’ Compensation Insurance Program for the policy year beginning August 1, 2024.
