BACKGROUND:
On February 6, 2024, the Mayor and City Council awarded a Professional Services Agreement for the Construction Testing / Soil Boring Services for the 2025 Water Main Improvement Program, in the amount of $99,885.00, to K & S Engineers Inc.
During the detailed design phase of the project, additional soil borings and pavement cores were identified to be needed to confirm soil characteristics and road pavement depths. K&S was requested to provide a proposal for this additional soil boring and road core work.
The Public Service Committee will review this matter.
CONCLUSION:
Amendment No. 1, an addition in the amount of $19,700.00, is the result of the following items:
1. 36 additional pavement cores to determine exact pavement thicknesses.
2. 2 additional borings near railroad crossings.
Funds will be charged to the Water Main Replacement Fund / Professional Services (53880000, 557200, $19,700.00).

Based on the above, it is recommended that the Mayor and City Council approve Amendment No. 1 for the Construction Testing and Soil Boring Services for 2025 Water Main Improvement Program, in the amount of $19,700.00, on behalf of K & S Engineers Inc.
