end

BACKGROUND:

Roadway widening improvements are planned on Theodore Street between Drauden Road and Wesmere Parkway.  The construction costs for this project will be processed through the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT).  The City of Joliet will be invoiced a 20% share of the construction costs throughout the project.  The Public Service Committee will review this matter.

CONCLUSION:

The City’s share of funding for the construction of this project will come from local Motor Fuel Tax (MFT) funds.  The State of Illinois requires the Mayor and City Council to approve a Funding Resolution when utilizing MFT funds.  Attached please find a Funding Resolution appropriating $708,333.00 for the City’s share of construction costs.
