BACKGROUND:
The 2024 City Budget contains funding for the Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) Long Term Control Plan (LTCP) Phase IV - Eastside and Westside Combined Sewer Overflow Regulators project. This contract was awarded by the Mayor & City Council to D Construction on June 6, 2023 in the amount of $12,628,985.00. Staff estimated the amount of work that would be completed for the project in 2024 and included that amount in the budget. The actual amount of contract work completed exceeded Staff’s estimate. Therefore, a budget amendment in the amount of $2,400,000.00 is requested in order to pay D Construction’s Pay Request No. 6 for the pay period ending December 31, 2024 in the amount of $2,663,549.96. The Public Service Committee will review this matter.
CONCLUSION:
As this expenditure was not fully funded in the original 2024 City of Joliet Budget, a Budget Amendment Ordinance, in the amount of $2,400,000.00, is attached for approval.
Funds from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) are being used to fund this project. This Budget Amendment will increase Fund 53080000 CSO LTCP Phase IV by $2,400,000.00.

Based on the above, it is recommended the Mayor and City Council approve the Ordinance Amending the 2024 Annual Budget, which will increase Fund 53080000 by $2,400,000.00, for the Combined Sewer Overflow Long Term Control Plan Phase IV - Eastside and Westside Combined Sewer Overflow Regulators project and approve payment of Pay Request No. 6 in the amount of $2,663,549.96 on behalf of D Construction.
