Purchase of a Ford F250 4x4 Plow Truck from D'Orazio Ford in the Amount of $62,050.70

BACKGROUND:
The purchase of a new snowplow truck for the Department of Community Development - Division of Buildings and Grounds was included as part of the approved 2025 budget. A Ford F250 4x4 Crew Pick-Up with Plow for snow removal was selected as the vehicle of choice. This vehicle is not available for immediate purchase but has an expected delivery date of spring 2025.
The Public Service Committee will review this matter.
CONCLUSION:
Pricing was requested from nine (9) area Ford dealers. Five (5) dealers provided quotes. Results are shown below:
• $62,050.70 - D’Orazio Ford
• $63,932.00 - Sutton Ford (State Bid for this unit)
• $63,953.00 - Morrow Brothers Ford
• $64,323.00 - Ron Tirapelli Ford
• $66,276.60 - Rod Baker Ford
Section 2-438 of the City of Joliet Code of Ordinances states that purchases over $25,000.00 may be awarded without written specifications or bidding under certain circumstances. One of these circumstances applies:
(f) Purchases when authorized by a concurring vote of two-thirds (2/3) of the Mayor and City Council
Sufficient funds are available for this purchase request in the 2025 Vehicle Replacement Fund (Org 30110150, Obj 557500, $62,050.70).

Based on the above, it is recommended that the Mayor and City Council approve the purchase of a Ford F250 4x4 Plow Truck from D'Orazio Ford in the amount of $62,050.70.
