Purchase of a John Deere Mower Assembly from Shorewood Home & Auto in the Amount of $103,346.22

BACKGROUND:
The purchase of a replacement tractor and mowing deck for the Roadways Division was included as part of the approved 2025 budget. A John Deere M5105 Tractor assembly and cutting deck was chosen for standardization of operation, repair, and materials within the existing City fleet.
The Public Service Committee will review this matter.
CONCLUSION:
Fleet Services was able to locate an in-stock unit locally at Shorewood Home & Auto. This unit will be available for purchase and use this season. The purchase price of this unit falls under the Sourcewell pricing agreement with John Deere. Sourcewell is a governmental purchasing cooperative that competitively solicits bids on a variety of goods and services.

• $ 131,453.00 - MSRP for equipment with no discounts
Section 2-438 of the City of Joliet Code of Ordinances states that purchases over $25,000.00 may be awarded without written specifications or bidding under certain circumstances. One (1) of these circumstances applies:
(f) Purchases when authorized by a concurring vote of two-thirds (2/3) of the Mayor and City Council.
Sufficient funding exists in the Roadways Capital Improvement Fund for this purchase (Org 30090290, Obj 557500, $103,346.22).

Based upon the above, it is recommended that the Mayor and City Council approve the request to purchase a John Deere Mower Assembly from Shorewood Home & Auto in the amount of $103,346.22.
