Award of Professional Services Agreement for the 2027 Source Water Protection Plan Update to Engineering Enterprises, Inc. in the Amount of $25,960.00
end
BACKGROUND:
In 2022 the City of Joliet developed and adopted a Source Water Protection Plan (SWPP) to satisfy the requirements of Illinois Administrative Code Title 35, Part 604, Subpart C. The regulations require community water systems to review and revise their SWPP at least once every five years. The City’s current SWPP was completed during a period when groundwater served as Joliet’s primary source water and the Alternative Water Source Program (AWSP) was being implemented to transition the community to Lake Michigan water. The City now requires an update to the SWPP to reflect current system conditions, regulatory requirements, and changes associated with the AWSP.
The Public Service Committee will review this matter.
CONCLUSION:
Engineering Enterprises, Inc., prepared a proposal to provide professional consulting and engineering services to assist the City of Joliet in updating its SWPP and obtaining approval from the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA). Tasks include collecting data, updating the source water assessment, updating the potential contaminant source inventory and susceptibility analysis, updating the action plan and preparing the SWPP. Engineering Enterprises, Inc. prepared the SWPP in 2022 and has knowledge of the City’s system and the AWSP.
