Ordinance Authorizing an Amendment to the Annual Budget of the City of Joliet for the 2025 Fiscal Year (2024 Projects Funded in 2025)

BACKGROUND:
The City of Joliet adopted the 2025 Budget on December 17, 2024. There are projects and capital purchases that span multiple fiscal years. When this occurs, staff uses its best efforts to estimate how much will be spent in each year. The purpose of the budget amendment is to move unspent funds for specific projects and purchases from the 2024 fiscal year to the 2025 fiscal year budget. Combining all of the projects into one ordinance eliminates the need for individual amendments throughout the year.
The Finance Committee will be reviewing this item at their March 18, 2025 meeting.
CONCLUSION:
Adoption of the attached Ordinance will move unspent funds from the 2024 fiscal year to the 2025 fiscal year, which allows previously budgeted projects and purchases to continue.
