Award of Professional Services Agreement for the Billie Limacher Bicentennial Park Theatre Seat Replacement to Davis Seating Company in the amount of $52,499.32

BACKGROUND:
Bicentennial Park located at 201 W. Jefferson Street hosts many events in the theatre throughout the year, including theatrical performances, drama camps, and City of Joliet events for staff and the public. The theatre has 178 seats, many of which are beyond repair and no longer have replacement parts in production. Public Assets Committee will review.
CONCLUSION:
The City of Joliet is seeking approval of purchase for 178 upholstered theatre seats for the theatre at Bicentennial Park. Staff contacted three vendors to obtain quotes for the scope of work. Two returned proposals. Proposals include installation and prevailing wage. Staff is recommending the purchase be approved and awarded to Davis Seating Company in the amount of $52,499.32. Original projected estimates were $60,000.00. The 2024 Bicentennial Park Repairs & Maintenance Budget provides funding for this seat replacement (Org 10005100, Obj 524300, $52,499.32).

Section 2-438 of the City of Joliet Code of Ordinances states that purchases over twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000.00) may be awarded without written specifications under certain circumstances. Two (2) of these circumstances apply:
(f) Purchases when authorized by a concurring vote of two-thirds (2/3) of the Mayor and City Council.
(g) Purchases of professional services.
Funds will be charged to Bicentennial Park Repairs & Maintenance (Org 10005100, Object 524300, $52,499.32).

Based on the above, it is recommended that the Mayor and City Council approve the Professional Services Agreement for the Billie Limacher Bicentennial Park Theatre Seat Replacement, in the amount of $52,499.32, on behalf of Davis Seating Company.
