Award of Contract for the JOL-08-02 Elevated Water Storage Tanks Project to CB&I Storage Tank Solutions LLC in the Amount of $14,742,000.00

BACKGROUND:
The Alternative Water Source Program (AWSP) Elevated Water Storage Tanks (JOL-08-02) project includes construction of two 1-million-gallon elevated tanks needed to increase storage volume and support pressure in the Joliet water distribution system. One tank will be located along Black Road just west of Interstate 55. The other will be located on Illinois Route 53, south of Breen Road.
Design drawings and bidding documents were prepared and the Advertisement for Bids was published in the Joliet Herald-News and on the City of Joliet website on Thursday, February 13, 2025.
The Public Service Committee will review this matter.
CONCLUSION:
On Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 3:00 p.m., two (2) sealed bids were received for the JOL-08-02 Elevated Water Storage Tanks project. The bid summary is as follows:

The low bid from CB&I Storage Tank Solutions LLC, in the amount of $14,742,000.00, is 6.2% below the Engineer's Opinion of Probable Construction Cost. The submitted bid was reviewed and evaluated for compliance with the bidding documents. Based upon this evaluation, CB&I was confirmed to be the lowest responsible bidder.
Funds will be charged to the Alternative Water Source Program - Joliet / Construction (Org 54080000, Object 557200, $14,742,000.00).
