BACKGROUND:
On February 6, 2024, the Mayor and City Council awarded a contract for the Broadway Street (Marion - Jefferson) Roadway Improvement Project, in the amount of $1,247,095.87, to PT Ferro Construction Co. The Public Service Committee will review this matter.
CONCLUSION:
Change Order No. 1, an addition in the amount of $280,507.46, is the result of the following items:
1. Additional rock excavation for sanitary sewer and retaining wall installation.
2. Replacement of sanitary sewer that was deteriorated.
3. Balancing of water main items not used.
Sufficient funds exist utilizing the Motor Fuel Tax Funds (Org 20090270, Object 557200, $63,261.55) and the Water & Sewer Fund / Sewer (Org. 50180020, Object 557200, $315,394.22).
Change Order No. 1 reflects a reduction in contributions from the Water & Sewer Fund / Water main replacement (Org 50180012, Object 23042, ($98,148.31)).

Based on the above, it is recommended that the Mayor and City Council approve Change Order No. 1 for the Broadway Street (Marion - Jefferson) Roadway Improvement Project - MFT Sect. No. 23-00557-00-FP, in the amount of $280,507.46, on behalf of PT Ferro Construction Co.
