BACKGROUND:
Fighting Chance has been recommended for Community Development Block Grant funds in the amount of $15,000.00 for their Grant Capacity and Administration Services. This activity will be used to leverage additional grant opportunities, build their staff capacity and technical assistance training.
CDBG Administration funds are designed to expand a non-profit agency’s general management and oversight, reporting capabilities, and financial/grant compliance and management. These funds are used to improve viability and sustainability of NFP organizations, and to ensure their services are able to continue servicing the Joliet community.
This project supports CDBG identified Goals, and demonstrates consistency to the City of Joliet 2025-2029 Consolidated Plan.
The Diversity and Community Relations Committee has reviewed this item and has approved for it to move to Council on September 12, 2025.
CONCLUSION:
This activity titled “CDBG Capacity Building” will sustain or improve grant capacity and financial management of this non-profit organization.
Funds will be charged to the Community Development Block Grant Fund: Org 21020250, Object 523300, $15,000.00.
