Approval of Change Order No. 2 for the Fairmont Water and Sewer Extension on Behalf of Steve Spiess Construction Inc., for a Deduction in the Amount of ($162,631.66), and Final Payment No. 5 in the Amount of $175,316.05

BACKGROUND:
On March 4, 2025, the Mayor and City Council awarded a contract for the Fairmont Water and Sewer Extension Project, in the amount of $2,055,015.08, to Steve Spiess Construction, Inc. Change Order No. 1 was approved for a net decrease in the amount of ($745,046.58).
The Public Service Committee will review this matter.
CONCLUSION:
This project has been completed, inspected, and accepted by the Department of Public Utilities. Change Order No. 2, a net decrease in the amount of ($162,631.66), is a result of the following:
• Tap on Fees for customers that connected to water and sewer.
• Balancing of quantities for final pay application.
Funds will be credited for this project to the W&S Eng Admin Fund (Org 50180013, Object 557200, Project 24050, ($162,631.66)).
Also, Payment No. 5 and Final, in the amount of $175,316.05, is presented for approval on behalf of Steve Spiess Construction, Inc.

Based on the above, it is recommended that the Mayor and City Council take the following actions:
1. Approve Change Order No. 2, for a decreased amount of ($162,631.66), to the Fairmont Water and Sewer Extension Project.
2. Approve Payment No. 5 and Final, in the amount of $175,316.05, on behalf of Steve Spiess Construction, Inc.
