BACKGROUND:
Residential Snow Removal has been recommended for Community Development Block Grant funds in the amount of $44,000.00 for its continued Public Service for the 2025-2026 Winter Season ($37,000 awarded for PY2025 will be combined with the additional remaining balance of $7,000 awarded from PY2024, for $44,000 total commitment to this public service). This activity will be used to support safety and accessibility of senior aged and/or legally disabled residents by providing them contracted snow removal services. The City will accept bids via RFP process.
This project supports CDBG identified Goals, and demonstrates consistency to the City of Joliet 2025-2029 Consolidated Plan.
The Diversity and Community Relations Committee has reviewed this item and has approved for it to move to Council on September 12, 2025.
CONCLUSION:
The activity titled “Residential Snow Removal” will support safety and accessibility of senior aged and/or legally disabled residents by providing them contracted snow removal services.
Funds will be charged to the Community Development Block Grant Fund: Org 21020250, Object 523300, $44,000.00.
