BACKGROUND:

On Tuesday, August 17, 2021, the Mayor and City Council awarded the Eastern Avenue / Washington Street Roadway Project - MFT Section No. 21-00535-00-FP to Austin-Tyler Construction Inc. in the amount of $588,588.66.  Subsequently, the Mayor and City Council approved Change Order No. 1, a decrease in the amount of ($15,187.70).

 

The Public Service Committee will review this matter.

 

CONCLUSION:

This project has been completed, inspected, and accepted by the Department of Public Works. Change Order No. 2, a net decrease in the amount ($1,686.40), is the result of the following:

                     

1.                     Installation of streetscape sidewalk on Eastern Avenue from Cass to Clinton at locations where trees were removed.

 

2.                     Balancing of completed items.

 

Change Order No. 2 reflects a reduction in contributions from the MFT Fund (Org 20090270, Object 557200, ($1,686.40)).

 

Also included is Payment No. 8 and Final, in the amount of $11,444.29, on behalf of Austin-Tyler Construction Inc.

 

RECOMMENDATION:

Based on the above, it is recommended that the Mayor and City Council take the following actions:

 

1.                     Approve Change Order No. 2, for the Eastern Avenue / Washington Street Project - MFT Section No. 21-00535-00-FP, a decrease in the amount of ($1,686.40).

 

2.                     Approve Payment No. 8 and Final in the amount of $11,444.29 on behalf of Austin-Tyler Construction Inc.
