Approval of Change Order No. 2 for the Glenwood Manor Water Main Improvements Project on behalf of Len Cox & Sons Excavating for a Deduction in the Amount of ($570,123.62)

BACKGROUND:
On January 21, 2025, the Mayor and City Council awarded a Contract for the Glenwood Manor Water Main Improvements Project, in the amount of $5,385,957.66, on behalf of Len Cox & Sons Excavating, based on the Unit Prices provided in their bid. Subsequently, Change Order No. 1, a zero cost, time extension change order was approved.
The Public Service Committee will review this matter.
CONCLUSION:
This project has been completed, inspected, and accepted by the Department of Public Utilities. Change Order No. 2 is a final balancing change order with a net decrease in the amount of ($570,123.62) for the following work:
• Balancing of final quantities
• Deduction for unused quantities
• Water shutoff down time
• Repair existing water main at Black & Prestige
• Manhole reconstruction
• B-Box height adjustments due to restoration requirements
• Water service 1 1/4" diameter pricing adjustment
• Additional pavement restoration on Black Road
Funds will be deducted as follows for this project: Water Main Replacement Fund / Construction (Org 53880000, Object 557200, ($490,461.02)) and Water & Sewer Improvement Fund / Sewer Collection / Construction (Org 50180020, Object 557200, ($79,662.60)).

Based on the above, it is recommended that the Mayor and City Council approve Change Order No. 2, for a decreased amount of ($570,123.62), to the contract for the Glenwood Manor Water Main Improvements Project on behalf of Len Cox & Sons Excavating.
