BACKGROUND:
Under Resolution #7858 City of Joliet allocated $155,000.00 towards Greater Joliet YMCA. Resolution #7758 included both Program Year 2021 Community Development Block Funding and COVID-19 Community Development Block Funding.
The Greater Joliet YMCA has requested an amendment to the CDBG-CV Funding of $130,000.00.
In effort to optimize Community Development Block Grant sub-recipient grant management, each previously funded Greater Joliet YMCA project shall have individual resolutions based on National Objectives as outlined by HUD.
CONCLUSION:
The second project listed in Resolution #7858 is a roof replacement that will use up to $25,000.00 for a portion of the Galowich Family YMCA Building located at 749 Houbolt Rd, Joliet IL, 60413. This project entails replacing the roof over the multipurpose room, which creates 800 square feet that can be used for children, adult, and senior classes. More than 80% of children are enrolled in YMCA programing are considered low-to-moderate income residents of Joliet.
