Approval of Purchase for One (1) AX17 Vermeer Chipper from Vermeer Illinois Inc in the Amount of $119,527.78

BACKGROUND:
The 2026 City Budget provides funding for the purchase of a tree chipper for the Roadways Division.
The Public Service Committee will review this matter.
CONCLUSION:
Vermeer Illinois Inc is a long-term vendor to the City of Joliet and is the territory supplier for their respective products. Sourcewell pricing was utilized to secure pricing as shown below:
• $119,527.78 - Sourcewell Pricing ($11,403.22 savings via Sourcewell)
• $130,931.00 - Preferred Customer Pricing
• $137,823.00 - Standard Pricing
Sufficient funding exists in the Public Works Capital Improvements Fund (Org 30090290, Object 557500; $119,527.78) for this purchase.
Section 2-438 of the City of Joliet Code of Ordinances states that purchases whose estimated cost is in excess of twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000.00) may be awarded without written specifications or bidding under certain circumstances. One (1) of these circumstances applies:
(f) Purchases when authorized by a concurring vote of two-thirds (2/3) of the Mayor and City Council.

Based upon the above, it is recommended that the Mayor and City Council approve the purchase of an AX17 Vermeer Chipper from Vermeer Illinois Inc in the amount of $119,527.78.
