Approval of Change Order No. 3 for Illinois Route 53 at Emerald Drive Intersection Improvements – MFT Section 18-00516-00-CH to PT Ferro Construction Co., a Deduction in the Amount of ($356,896.51) and Payout No. 7 and Final in the Amount of $130,927.59

BACKGROUND:
On June 7, 2022, the Mayor and City Council awarded a contract for the Illinois Route 53 at Emerald Drive Intersection Improvements in the amount of $2,318,134.78 to PT Ferro Construction Co. Subsequently, change orders No.1 and 2 were approved by the Mayor and City Council.
The Public Service Committee will review this matter.
CONCLUSION:
This project has been completed, inspected, and accepted by the Department of Public Works. Change Order No. 3, a deduction in the amount of ($356,896.51) is a result of the following items:
1) Deduction of a segment of 12” water main not required.
2) Deduction of quantities for Non-Special Waste Disposal.
3) Balancing of final quantities.
Change Order items represent a reduction in funds from the EDP Grant Funds (Org 20090270, Object 557200, ($124,345.37)) and Capital Funds (Org 30090270, Object 557200, ($232,551.14)).
Also included is Payment Estimate No. 7 and Final, in the amount of $130,927.59, on behalf of PT Ferro Construction Co.

Based on the above, it is recommended that the Mayor and City Council take the following actions:
1) Approve Change Order No. 3 for the Illinois Route 53 at Emerald Drive Intersection Improvements Project, a net deduction in the amount of ($356,896.51).
2) Approve Payment Request No. 7 and Final, in the amount of $130,927.59, on behalf of PT Ferro Construction Co.
