Approval of Change Order No. 1 for the Twin Oaks Phase 2 Water Main Improvements Project to Austin Tyler Construction Inc. for a Deduction in the Amount of ($108,256.76)

BACKGROUND:
On January 20, 2026, the Mayor and City Council awarded a Contract for the Twin Oaks Phase 2 Water Main Improvements Project in the amount of $2,069,538.60 on behalf of Austin Tyler Construction Inc. based on the Unit Prices provided in their bid.
This project has been completed, inspected, and accepted by the Department of Public Utilities. Change Order No. 1 is presented to close-out the project.
The Public Service Committee will review this matter.
CONCLUSION:
Change Order No. 1 is a final balancing change order for a net decrease in the amount of ($108,256.76) for the following work:
• Balancing of final quantities
• Deduction for unused quantities
• Remove and replace 12" storm sewer on Jeffery Drive due to unknown conflict
• Repair existing 4" drain tile
• Explore and plug unknown abandoned field tile at 3200 Randy Drive
Funds will be credited for this project to the Water Main Replacement Fund (Org 53880000, Object 557200, ($108,256.76).

Based on the above, it is recommended that the Mayor and City Council approve Change Order No. 1, for a decreased amount of ($108,256.76), for the Twin Oaks Phase 2 Water Main Improvements Project on behalf of Austin Tyler Construction Inc.
