BACKGROUND:
In 2019 the City acquired the Fairmont Water and Sewer System in unincorporated Lockport Township. The portion of the Fairmont sanitary sewer system that is tributary to the Canal Street Lift Station is constructed of vitrified clay pipe and has been prioritized for rehabilitation due to the condition of the pipe which results in excessive inflow and infiltration. The proposed rehabilitation includes mainline cured-in-place pipelining and manhole rehabilitation. Will County has provided Land Use Funds for the design of the 2025 Fairmont Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Program and will provide CBDG and Federal Grant funds for the construction.
Design drawings and bidding documents were prepared for the project and the invitation to bid was advertised in the Labor Record on Thursday, March 27, 2025.
The Public Service Committee will review this matter.
CONCLUSION:
On Thursday, April 17, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., five (5) sealed bids were received for the 2025 Fairmont Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Program. The bid summary is as follows:
