Award of Contract for the 2026 City of Joliet Sidewalk Replacement Program (West of Larkin) to Davis Concrete Construction Co. in the Amount of $1,106,778.11

BACKGROUND:
The 2026 Budget allocates funds for sidewalk repairs throughout the City as part of the operational and capital budgets. Improvements will consist of sidewalk removal and replacement, driveway removal and replacement, ADA ramp removal and replacement, and curb removal and replacement.
The Public Service Committee will review this matter.
CONCLUSION:
On July 8, at 1:00 P.M., three (3) sealed bids were received for the 2026 City of Joliet Sidewalk Replacement Program (West of Larkin). The bid summary is as follows:

The low bid by Davis Concrete Co. in the amount of $1,106,778.11, is 10.68% above the engineer’s estimate. Sufficient funds exist utilizing the Public Works Capital Funds (Org 30090270, Object 557200, $906,778.11) and Public Works General Funds / Contract Services (Org 09027000, Object 524200, $200,000.00).

Based on the above, it is recommended that the Mayor and City Council award the Contract for the 2026 City of Joliet Sidewalk Replacement Program (West of Larkin) to Davis Concrete Construction Co. in the Amount of $1,106,778.11.
