title
Resolution Authorizing the City Manager to Execute Lease Agreements for 10 S. Chicago Street and 9 Osgood Street.
end
BACKGROUND:
The City of Joliet has leased the building at 10 South Chicago Street to Will County since 2019. That lease has expired, and the parties have renegotiated mutually agreeable terms that include, among other provisions, the City’s lease of 9 Osgood Street.
CONCLUSION:
The lease for 10 S. Chicago Street will allow Will County to continue to use the facility for their specialty courts as well as for storage. The term of this lease expires in 2028, with the option to renew. Will County is responsible for the general maintenance and repair of the structure, less the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems that make the facility habitable.
The lease for 9 Osgood Street will allow the City of Joliet to use the facility for fleet maintenance and other non-prohibited uses. The City will be responsible for interior alterations and maintenance.
RECOMMENDATION:
recommendation
It is recommended that the Mayor and City Council approve the Resolution Authorizing the City Manager to execute the lease agreements for 10 S. Chicago Street and 9 Osgood Street.
