BACKGROUND:
The Eastside Wastewater Treatment Plant utilizes six pumps to pump biosolids for various operations. The original pumps were installed in 2006 and have reached the end of their useful life and need to be replaced. A set of specifications were prepared by the City’s staff for the replacement pump project.
An advertisement for bids for the Eastside Wastewater Treatment Plant Pump Replacements project was published in the Herald News on Thursday, July 28, 2026.
The Public Service Committee will review this matter.
CONCLUSION:
On Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., three (3) sealed bids were opened and read in City Hall Conference Room 1 for the Eastside Wastewater Treatment Plant Pump Replacements project. The bid summary is as follows:

The low bid by Airy’s Inc. is 8% below the engineer’s estimate.

Based on the above, it is recommended that the Mayor and City Council award the Eastside Wastewater Treatment Plant Pump Replacements project, in the amount of $299,887.00, to Airy’s Inc.
