Resolution Approving and Authorizing the Execution of the Collective Bargaining Agreement Between the City of Joliet and the Fraternal Order of Police, Labor Council, Joliet Police Supervisors Association

BACKGROUND:

After several productive negotiation sessions, the City and the Fraternal Order of Police, Labor Council, Joliet Supervisors Association have reached an agreement as to the Collective Bargaining Agreement being brought before the Council for consideration and includes the following significant terms:

 

                     A three-year term from January 1, 2026 - December 31, 2028 with wage increases of 3.25% in 2026, 3.25% in 2027, and 3.25% in 2028;

                     A new SAFE-T Act stipend, which incrementally increases to 2.75% of annual wages by the final year of the agreement;

                     Expanded residency to include residency within a 50-mile radius of the intersection of Essington Rd. and Jefferson St. in Joliet;

                     New or revised language on various operational issues and technical clean-up.

Based on the above, it is recommended the Mayor and the City Council approve the attached Resolution Approving and Authorizing the Execution of the Collective Bargaining Agreement Between the City of Joliet and the Fraternal Order of Police, Labor Council, Joliet Police Supervisors Association
