Award of Contract for the 2025-2027 Native Landscaping Maintenance and Restoration Project to McGinty Bros., Inc. in the Amount of $180,733.50
end
BACKGROUND:
The Department of Public Utilities owns and maintains eight sites with native landscaping. Native landscaping such as rain gardens, bioswales, streambank stabilizations, and bioretention basins were installed to manage stormwater and are components of the City’s MS4 permit for stormwater management and education. Maintenance practices such as mowing, controlled burns, and invasive species control by trained ecologists are critical for proper functioning and the aesthetics of these sites.
A Request for Proposal for maintenance activities for a three-year period (2025-2027) was prepared and sent to six firms that are qualified to perform ecological management tasks in the areas of native landscaping, riparian environments, wetlands, and best management practices with native plant communities.
The Public Service Committee will review this matter.
CONCLUSION:
On Thursday, June 26, 2025, two (2) proposals were received. The bid summary is as follows:

The low bid from McGinty Bros., Inc. has been reviewed and found to be in conformance with the requirements. McGinty Bros., Inc. has previously completed similar work for the City and is qualified to perform this work.
Funds will be charged to the Water & Sewer Operations Fund:
